klo ubuntu 9.10 hrs ngedit file grub.cfg yang ada di direktori /boot/grub, caranya

$ sudo gedit /boot/grub/grub.cfg

trs anda cari baris ini :

## ## End Default Options ##

title Ubuntu 9.10, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic
uuid 48d8e62e-640a-49dc-abe9-297f4cc74931
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic root=UUID=b8209049-95c9-4551-9394-f3325e8620bc ro quiet splash
initrd /initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic
quiet

title Ubuntu 9.10, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic (recovery mode)
uuid 48d8e62e-640a-49dc-abe9-297f4cc74931
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic root=UUID=b8209049-95c9-4551-9394-f3325e8620bc ro single
initrd /initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic

title Ubuntu 9.10, memtest86+
uuid 48d8e62e-640a-49dc-abe9-297f4cc74931
kernel /memtest86+.bin
quiet

### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST

# This is a divider, added to separate the menu items below from the Debian
# ones.
title Other operating systems:
root

# This entry automatically added by the Debian installer for a non-linux OS
# on /dev/sda1
title WinUtuxU OS
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
savedefault
makeactive
chainloader +1

kasih tanda # di depan pilihan yg akan anda hide kalau saya :

#title Ubuntu 9.10, kernel 2.6.28-11-generic (recovery mode)
#uuid 48d8e62e-640a-49dc-abe9-297f4cc74931
#kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic #root=UUID=b8209049-95c9-4551-9394-f3325e8620bc ro single
#initrd /initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic

#title Ubuntu 9.10, memtest86+
#uuid 48d8e62e-640a-49dc-abe9-297f4cc74931
#kernel /memtest86+.bin
#quiet

### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST

hal ini berarti saya hanya mengaktifkan ubuntu 9.10 dan OS yang lain yaitu WinUtuxu OS

mg membantu

Tapi bila semula kita memakai jaunty lalu update ke karmic maka tetep kita pakai menu.lst
sudo gedit /boot/grub/menu.lst

setuju dgn ini, paling aman lewat ubuntu Tweak, selain bisa clean config, juga bisa clean package dan clean kernel...

tapi sebelum clean package ada baik nya buat mem-backup package tsb, krn parckage tsb adalah file2 hasil downloadan, ketika kita butuh bisa dipakai lagi..

file2 setelah download / update bisa dilihat di :
/var/cache/apt/archives

kalau q c pake synaptic aj manual gitu, uninstall:
- linux-headers-2.6.31-xx
- linux-headers-2.6.31-xx-generic
- linux-image-2.6.31-xx-generic

misal: klau punya xx= 14, 15, 16, 17, 18
jadi tinggal uninstall yg 14, 15, 16 dan 17 saja, sisakn yg terbaru (18).

Klo mau lebih simpel, pake Grub Customizer, tinggal hilangin centang utk opsi2 yg ga diinginkan.
