Assalamu'alaikum kakak,, bagaimana solusi instalasi Driver Broadcom di Backtrack?? Maaf jika agak salah masuk forum, tapi yang saya pakai Backtrack 4 yang juga turunannya Ubuntu.. biasanya modul kernel yang dimaksud gak ada / gak dicompile sebagai modul..coba dicek di config kernelnya.. modul kernel ieee80211_crypt_tkip merupakan modules untuk wireless card yang support WPA security dengan enkripsi TKIP (Temporal Key Integrity Protocol). tentang tkip ini coba baca http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temporal_Key_Integrity_Protocol.dan umumnya wifi sekarang dah berdasar enkripsi AES, (dengan WPA2 support). coba cek di kernel configurasingya apakah "CONFIG_IEEE80211_CRYPT_TKIP" terkompile sebagai module. kalay iya, seharusnya kernel dah support, tapi kalau tidak ya harus compile sendiri... atau pakai kernel yang support

adakah artikel khusus yang membahas tentang kasus ini, mas?? Apakah bisa jika modul ini belum terpasang lalu kita memasangnya sendiri??? Nah, di readme pemasangan driver BroadCom, ada selain ieee80211, tapi kok ketika saya ketik di console, ifconfig, kok tidak keluar ya, wlan-nya???

Sebagai informasi, BroadCom saya tipe 4312, dan saya sudah google, dan tidak ada seorangpun yang memiliki jawaban ini.. Lihat postingan blogger luar ini: http://hydtech.wordpress.com/2009/09/25/...the-lenovo-s10/nah, disana ada yang memiliki kasus yang sama dengan saya, tapi tidak ada jawabannya..  Mohon bantuannya...

Nah, di readme install driver itu saya baca # modprobe lib80211 or # modprobe ieee80211_crypt_tkip
Lalu, apa perbedaan jika saya memilih lib80211 ??? Jika saya memilih lib80211 , maka tidak keluar apa-apa, tapi juga tidak berpengaruh apa-apa???

dari output lspci .. 03:00.0 Network controller: Broadcom Corporation BCM4312 802.11b/g (rev 01)..
kayaknya ni device wireless broadcomnya.. dan liat dari output lsmod kalao gak salah ni adalah driver wireless broadcomm yang digunakan kernel.. dari yang saya baca he wireless berchipset Broadcom membutuhkan sebuah "firmware", yang berjalan pada chipset tersebut selama operasinya. firmware ini merupakan software tertutup dan dan di copyright oleh broadcomm dan lisensinya jelas bukan GPL, jadi gunakan untuk kepentingan sendiri. di Debian/Ubuntu dan turunannya, bisa menginstall
$sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter
untuk mengekstrak firmware broadcomm dari drivernya

Belum kak, saya pindah saja ke 9.10. Semoga Ubuntu 10.10 nanti bisa diandalkan.. Ubuntu 9.10 kok juga tidak bisa ya?? Ubuntu 9.04 kemarin bisa lho padahal... Wah ini broadcom ini membawa petaka besar, nih.. Propietary sekali... Sudah menerapkan Readme-nya masih tidak bisa terus?????

pertama untuk install driver Broadcom kita perlu install patch,fakeroot, dkms & bcmwl-kernel-sources untuk setiap paket bisa kita unduh dengan mudah melalui http://apt-web.dahsy.at/sesuaikan dengan jenis distribusinya, trus install deh tuh semua paketnya.kalau sukses maka akan muncul list di hardware drivernya  CMIIW

kalo backtrack cm yg sta bsanya keknya.. coba baca2di blognya mas fl3xu5.. tp klo di Ubuntu bisa buat driver b43, coba di cek di mari mas http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1266620. sukses kok ane dah coba. .
